They tipicly weigh from 8 to 17 pounds. They are 22 to 24.6 inches long and with a tail of 14.6 to 18.6 inches long. They may live as long as long as 23 years. They show symptoms of age at 12 to 14 years old. They are ussaly qiuet and make subtle vocalizations such as squeals, twitters and huff-quacks that can be heard at close proximity. They also hiss or grunt, young cubs use a whistle or high pitched bleat to signal distress.
